What’s on my Christmas TBR for 2023
We’re one week into December and I’m still confirming my TBR – or to-be-read list – for the festive holidays. But I’ve narrowed it down to a few goodies, some old and some new. So this is what’s on my Christmas TBR for 2023.
Christmas TBR for 2023
Firstly, as ever, I intend on re-reading A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens in December. It’s only 100 or so pages and it’s such a cosy read. Perfect for after work, with a blanket and the cat on my lap.
I’ve seen this book everywhere this Christmas and I now have it in ebook and audiobook, so I have no excuse! It’s a fake dating story with an LGBT+ plot twist (not a spoiler, it’s in the blurb!) Romance meets mayhem, at Christmas. Perfect!
Last year I read Midnight in Everwood and this year my Nutcracker retelling of choice is The Kingdom of Sweets by Erika Johansen. The story follows two sisters, Clara – the beautiful, popular one – and Natasha – cursed to live in her sister’s shadow. Natasha discovers a secret about her birth and has to make a choice.
A Yuletide story about a cat – I’m in. This is the story of a woman who’s about to move up in her career when she suddenly has to look after a cat. The main character, Mina, is staying in Cornwall and rediscovering her roots in Cornish folklore.
I’ve been going through a reading slump so four books is the perfect amount for me this December. But what books are on your Christmas TBR for 2023? Let me know in the comments below.
