What I’m Watching | June 2020
You’d think that Lockdown was the perfect time to lounge in front of the TV and just watch crap all day. But sadly, no. I’m sick of TV! But I have been watching a few programmes in June 2020.
What I’m Watching June 2020
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (Amazon Prime)
My family and I were big Extreme Makeover: Home Edition fans when I was younger. It was up there with Doctor Who and Takeshi’s Castle, as our favourite weekend morning TV shows. One season was recently added to Amazon prime so I’ve been taking a trip down memory lane and watching the makeovers back to back. My eyes practically glazed over, but it was a good past-time.
Queer Eye (Netflix)
Season 5 is finally here! I was hoping that they’d release it early in response to the lockdown but alas, no. Instead, we got it at the beginning of June and I devoured all of the episodes. There were ten episodes this time, compared to the six episodes of the previous series. While I’m not a massive fan of the change to the opening and the new city isn’t my fave – I kind of miss Kansa! – the episodes still made me cry and smile. Love it.
The Resident
Everyone needs a good medical drama to get their teeth into. Growing up for me it with Casualty and Holby City. My mum loved E.R. when she was younger, and of course, there is Gray’s Anatomy. But for me, it’s The Resident. This series gives a thrilling insight into the world of corporate medicine in America, as well as being a total drama.
Magnum P.I.
So this is technically a programme of my parents that I hopped onto the bandwagon to watch. I caught the latter end of the second series and have now become addicted, so much so I plan on re-watching the first series. Just good background, not-too-hard-too-concentrate TV drama.
RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars 5
After RuPaul’s Drag Race series 12 finished I thought I was going to be devoid of Drag Queens. But then All Stars started! I can feel my parents rolling their eyes at me, they just don’t understand okuurr!
The Bold Type
And finally, the second half of series 4 of The Bold Type is airing in America and I’m watching it. Sue me. It’s my favourite TV show ever and I get the feeling that this series is really going to pack a punch. Can’t wait to see what happens.
