Top Ten Current Favourites
Today I thought I would share a list of my Top Ten Current Favourites. From my favourite TV shows to my favourite meal, these are my current favourites.
A recent favourite is the show ‘9-1-1’. I watched the first three series on Disney+ over a few weeks. Following the LA Fire Department and 9-1-1 dispatchers, it’s a funny melodrama and strangely addictive. It also boasts a great cast, with Angela Basset leading as an LA Police Sergeant.
Co-Op Millionaire Bites
I’ve become addicted to these sweet treats of late. I can get two packs for £3 and I definitely need to eat less! They’re the perfect snack when relaxing in front of the TV or when I’m writing.
Brunch with friends
Recently I’ve been out to brunch with a few friends and I’ve really enjoyed it. From Japanese BBQ to bottomless brunch in Caribbean restaurants. It’s a chance to put the world to rights and catch up.
I’m finally writing my next novel! After procrastinating for quite a while, I’ve written the first 10,000 words of a new contemporary women’s fiction novel. I’m putting aside time at the weekend to write as much as I can, with the aim of finishing the first draft by July.
Yes, I read classics regularly but lately, it’s all I want to read. That and celebrity memoirs. I finally got around to reading The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte recently, and another novel by E M Forster. I wonder which classics I’ll read by the end of the year.
Now that I’m back to writing, I’m also carrying a notebook with me 24/7 to capture lines and ideas even when I’m out and about. I’ve discovered that my all-time favourite novels are Fringe notebooks – you can find them in T.K. Maxx – the paper quality and the sizes are perfect for small handbags.
The Sims 4
A long-term favourite classic, The Sims 4 is back on the list. Lately, after a long day or on a quiet afternoon, I’ve quite enjoyed sitting in front of the TV and playing The Sims 4 for a few hours. I’m a 13-year-old at heart.
My recent favourite meal is Tikka Masala, I probably have this two times a week at the moment. It’s easy to whip up and it’s delicious. I really like the 30% reduced-fat Sharwood sauce – the full-fat is a bit too greasy for me – with rice and pitta bread covered in butter. It’s delicious.
Interior Design Masters (BBC)
Another TV favourite is Interior Design Masters. I’ve been a fan of this since season one, and season three is currently airing. It’s a lot of fun seeing the challenges come together and getting a sense of each designer’s style. Banjo is my favourite in series three.
Jean-Paul Gautier Perfume
And finally, I’ve been loving my Jean-Paul Gautier perfume. I wear Classique regularly, although I’m running out, so I need to get another bottle. This perfume lasts for so long. A lot of my perfumes need re-spritzing throughout the day, but I still catch hints of this when I’m sitting in the office or out in town.
