The Cosy Autumn Tag

It’s Autumn and, of course, that means it’s time for a cosy Tag. The Cosy Autumn Tag was actually created by one of my colleagues, Lucy at The Book Belle on YouTube. Autumn is my favourite season because of its cosiness; the extra big jumpers, the even larger scarves… it’s all about the cosy.

What book always reminds you of fall/autumn?

I tend to gravitate towards historical fiction during the autumn, so I would have to say books like The Reader by Bernhard Schlink and The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd.

What is your favourite autumnal book cover?

When I think Autumn, I think orange and leaves so anything with either of those two on the cover is an Autumnal book to me. The first that comes to mind is Circe by Madeline Miller.

What is your favourite autumnal drink to read with?

I love a cup of coffee with my reading. Nothing fancy, a Nescafe Coffee Instant coffee. I’m that boring – and broke.

Do you prefer to read late at night or early in the morning?

I am very much an end of the day reader. Unless I’m travelling or listening to an audiobook, I tend to do most of my kindle and paperback reading at the end of the day.

Halloween is coming! What is your favourite spooky read?

I don’t read too many spooky novels so I don’t really have a favourite, but I might pick up Jane Eyre or some fairy tales to fill the spooky season.

What is the ultimate comfort read for you?

It’s always Harry Potter, it’s my nostalgia and comfort read. Whilst the author is not in my good graces, the story is bigger than her now.

What is your favourite autumnal reading snack?

Paprika pringles and dip. Not great when you’re turning pages, so more of an audiobook/kindle snack.

What is your favourite autumnal candle to burn whilst reading?

I’m a sucker for a Christmas candle all year round. Currently, I’m burning one called Christmas Memories from Yankee Candle. The top notes are of cinnamon with undernotes of sugar cookies and vanilla.

When you’re not reading, what is your favourite autumnal activity?

Writing. My whole life revolves around books so of course, my other big hobby besides reading is writing. Not just blog posts but also novels, the occasional short story, poem or newsletter.

What is on your autumn/fall reading list?

Currently, my Autumn TBR contains quite a few books and a lot of them are thrillers for work. But I’m also reading Kenneth Williams’ Diary and listening to Oliver Twist.

That’s it for the Cosy Autumn Tag. What would your answers be? Let me know in the comments below.
