Some of my Current Favourites

It’s been an odd few weeks, to say the least, but I still have had a few favourites to pass the time.  Over the last month, I’ve been loving these things, in the case of chocolate probably a bit too much…

What are your current favourites? Are you loving Animal Crossing or really enjoying a daily walk? Let me know in the comments below.

Chocolate Fingers

I’ve been making my way through countless boxes of these, and I don’t share. Why do they have to be so delicious, and addictive? One really does lead to another.

The Sims 4

I’m not an Animal Crossing fan but I do love The Sims and since I no longer have a CD drive on my computer I download The Sims 4 via Origin. Now I’m addicted. It’s good to ‘get outside’ though, even if ‘outside’ is just a virtual reality.

Harry Potter series

It’s usually the beginning of my favourite time of year, the time I re-read Harry Potter for pleasure. Well, my re-read came a bit early this month due to a need for a comfort read. Still, I love this book series, even if there are moments that are problematic…

I’m in the throes of writing Book 2, as my first book is currently out with my agent. It’s been fun. I’m about 50,000 words into it, with about 30-40,000 words left to go. I may have a literal lockdown novel after this, after all.

I’m now taking daily naps like I’m a geriatric sleeping through family visits. It’s been glorious. On my lunch break, I have a half an hour nap, on the weekends I’ll probably have two a day! Great for passing the time and truly relaxing. I feel like I’m back at university.

My cat, Wendy, is 18 and a half years old yet she still acts like a kitten. She has loved having most of the family home for a long period of time and won’t leave any of us alone! At the moment she loves to wake me up at 6:30 am for morning cuddles and then sleep on my bed all day before joining me in the afternoon to interrupt work meetings. It’s been lovely if a little annoying.

Normal People

It’s been a while since I’ve watched a BBC adaptation and not wanted it to end. These 12 half an hour episodes are glorious, powerful, ethereal, romantic, raw, real and utterly beautiful. I loved it.

My mum was given a new recipe by our American family for Snickerdoodles – the state cookies of Virginia I believe? – and I am addicted. They’re lovely crumbly shortbread cookies smothered in cinnamon and nutmeg. My poor mother is just making them in batches for me now. I have the best mother.

But that’s what I’ve been loving the last few weeks. What about you?

Love Ellie x
