Outdoor & Garden (Under £40) Wishlist

My lovely landlord has decided to pave over my tiny back garden and give me my own little patio garden instead. I’m so grateful, as I suck at gardening! I worked at a Garden Centre for nearly five years and I cannot garden… the irony.

But, just because I won’t be setting up a small herb garden and learning about lawn maintenance, doesn’t mean I can’t have a pretty garden patio. As such, I’m putting together an outdoor and garden wishlist of items I’d love to incorporate into my garden somehow.

Outdoor & Garden (Under £40) Wishlist

Tall Metal Planter – Matalan – £18

As much as I suck at gardening there are some plants I’m pretty sure even I would struggle to kill. As such, I would like to try my hand at some light gardening by getting plants like English Ivy and have them trailing off of a tall planter.

Brown Wooden Frame Plant Stand – George – £30

An alternative to a few planters is a plant stand instead. I love this plant stand from George, ASDA as it could be used for other items as well plants, such as decorative gnomes or an outdoor thermometer.

Tarno Table and Chairs – IKEA – £35

Since gardens are not exactly common in London, I believe that function over cost is the way to go. As such, instead of going for a gorgeous £200 swing bench or a full four-seater garden set, a simple two-seater table and chair set from IKEA would work. It’s inexpensive and I would be upset if I had to leave it behind if I moved in the future.

Watering Can – IKEA – £9

You can’t have plants and not water them, even if we do live in England and it rains 200 days of a year. I love this cream watering can from IKEA, it’s got a thin spout for could be used for a small herbs as well as larger plants.

Sitting Geo Knome – Wilko – £12

No garden is complete without a gnome. Right? I came across this bonkers hippie-gnome on Wilko and I actually really love it. It’s bright blue, very hipster, and quite cute. Perfect for sitting in the corner next to a plant, or on the plant stand.

Solar String Lights – Wilko – £10

Of course, the other thing a garden needs is atmospheric lighting. And I love a good set of fairy lights. Since my garden is so small, it would be easy to string up around the fence and have on during warm nights when I want to enjoy a glass of Pimms outside with friends.

Zinc Herb Tray – Homebase – £4.95

I love fresh herbs, particularly mint and parsley and I would love to grow these myself. As such aI need a herb tray.

Waterproof LED Candles – Amazon – £17.99

On top of fairy lights, I would love some LED candles to have on the table or around the plant pots on the ground. I think that would look really pretty.

That’s what I’ve got on my wishlist for under £40. I’m sure I’ll add more as I watch YouTube videos of patio/garden makeovers. It’s a secret pleasure.

What do you suggest I add to my little garden? And any idea for plants I should try to keep alive? Let me know in the comments below.

Love Ellie x
