My Most Anticipated Movies of 2018

Over the next year, there are a ton of awesome movies being released and I can’t wait to go and watch them! Here are some of my most anticipated movies of 2018!

Black Panther

Who is not looking forward to this movie! It is the epic follow up to Captain America: Civil War with a focus on the Black Panther, aka T’Challa, King of Wakanda. Not only does this trailer look kick-ass but the film itself has a leading cast of almost all black actors! Hallelujah! I am so happy about this. I can’t wait to watch this in February.

Han Solo

I am waiting for a trailer and an official photo for this movie – which is being released in April! – but I cannot wait to go and see this next Star Wars spin-off movie. I just hope it is as good as Rogue One. Although, I think this one might have a slightly happier ending – so long as they leave off the dodgy CGI.

The Avengers: Infinity Wars Part 1

Last year I told a lot of people I was getting sick of all these Marvel movies… I take it back. I am so pumped for this movie (and Black Panther) and after seeing Thor 3, in which I nearly wet myself with laughter, I am back into loving my Marvel movies! Can’t wait to see this movie in April.

Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again

I forced my colleagues into watching this movie’s trailer about 12 times when it was released the other week. And I probably watched it 12 times that evening as well. Not only does it look like a good film, but I am also freaking out that they might have killed off Donna Sheridan! Although, Sam doesn’t look that cut-up about it if it’s true. After all, if it is he has just lost the love of his life… again? And Cher! WTF! Out in July.

My Most Anticipated Movies of 2018

Mary Poppins Returns

I can’t wait to see Emily Blunt take on P.L. Travers’ deliciously mean, yet helpful nanny. She wasn’t all sugar and dancing penguins in the book – she was a bit of a cow bag actually – and I look forward to seeing this adaptation with its all-star cast. It has Lin Manuel-Miranda in it! Out in December.

The Incredibles II

We’ve only waited 10 years for this sequel… enough said.

Maze Runner: The Death Cure

Finally, we’ll see the end of this series – that makes it sound like I want it to end, I don’t. I do want to know what happens after waiting two long years! This is out at the end of January, so not too long to wait, thankfully.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Curse of the Grindelwald

Or… The Ironically Named Sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them. As much as the lack of replacing Johnny Depp as Grindelwald has annoyed me – Colin Farrell did an excellent job the first time around – I am still anticipating this movie quite a lot as I need to see what Jude Law does to Albus Dumbledore. And also to see if J.K. Rowling has actually proven her statement that Dumbledore was in fact gay. He needs to get out of the literary closet properly now.

What movies are you looking forward to seeing in 2018? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. I had no idea that the was the title to The Fantastic Beasts sequel!! Curse of the Grindelwald, that’s for sure! I’m SO excited for Incredibles 2 (Incredibles released when I was five!!), but most importantly, MAMMA MIA 2!!! I cannot wait. I don’t think they killed off Donna, but they definitely want us to think that and then be surprised when we see Meryl Streep on the big screen. I’m also really looking forward to seeing Lily James play a young Donna. 😀 Great list! I hope you love (or at least enjoy!) all these movies and they meet your expectations. 🙂

    1. It’s such an ironic title 😉 I just remember bouncing on the kids seat at the Incredibles thinking ‘this is amazing!!’ I loved it 😀 I have probably watched the trailer for Mamma Mia 2 about ten times more 😀 I hope it’s as good as the first one!
