My Favourite Things About Christmas
There’s a lot to love about Christmas, and today I thought I would share a few of my favourite thing about Christmas.
I think it’s the most popular time of year for my family. We spend all year – or at least my mother does – getting ready for the next Christmas season.
My Favourite Things About Christmas
Christmas Music
I think my favourite day of Christmas is actually the 1st November. Odd right, and very early. But it’s the first time I feel that I’m legally allowed to start playing Christmas music. It’s the jolliest and most motivating music. Who doesn’t love a feel-good Spotify playlist after all?
Christmas Food
My sister always says the best thing about Christmas Day is waking up to the smell of Roast Beef in the oven. Yes, we have Roast Beef rather than Turkey. Sue us. It is truly a delicious smell and of course, tastes amazing.
Presents… duh
No matter how old I get, I still love presents. I actually think I prefer giving presents to receiving them. But there is something wonderful about a day where we just gift each other things for no reason – yes, I know there are religious reasons… but it’s been over 2,000 years – we’re just doing it because we enjoy it at this point.
Seeing the Family
Okay, maybe not be possible in 2020. But usually, I love the chance to see family I haven’t seen throughout the year. From my cousins to my aunts and uncles. We used to have a massive family Christmas, but with time people get older and Christmas changes. This Christmas I’ve gained a brother-in-law. He’s been around for yonks, but this year it’s official.
Christmas Eve
Christmas Day is lovely, but it’s the anticipation of Christmas Eve that gives me the best buzz. I usually head into town with my dad for a bit of a last-minute gift-buying trawl – it’s tradition. And we always have a big gammon meal the night before and go to bed relatively early in brand new PJs that mum always gets us. it’s snuggly and lovely. Just what I want for Christmas.
