May Favourites
I love a good favourites post, so today I would share my May 2016 favourites. Here’s what I’ve been loving this month.
Commuting
A strange favourite but one I have enjoyed – it won’t last! I did a two-week work placement at the beginning of the month with Transworld, an imprint of Penguin Random House. It was great! It was also in the furthest reaches of London – Ealing Broadway. That’s the end of the line on the Central Line underground. It took me approx 2 hours to get there every morning from University and I actually enjoyed it. Never have I got so much reading/coffee-drinking done in my life!
Coffee!
I just love it. Café Nero’s white chocolate mochas, Starbuck’s white caffé mochas, Costa’s vanilla lattes…oh coffee! My true friend!
Friends
I saw my Bestie for the first time in months for a good 3 hours full of people-watching/coffee-drinking/blog-planning in Starbucks and it was great! I know every time I see her that I am going to be laughing like crazy. This reunion’s laughter was about our inability to take selfies! We will always need sticks in our lives! (no, that is not a euphemism)
Short Hair
Why did I not make this life choice earlier? For as long as I can remember I have had long hair – not long as in down-to-the-base-of-my-spine long, but past my shoulders long. For a girl that only knew how to plait, and badly, it was really a waste of hair. So I got it chopped off… layered… slightly thinned and whatever else the hairdressers decided to do in there! It may have cost a lot but I don’t care! I love it! FREEDOM!
Mints
I am currently working a crappy part-time job as an invigilator for my old school – an invigilator is a person who walks/stands around the sports hall whilst a load of 15-16-year-olds do their GCSEs. So far I haven’t got to that ‘I’m-so-bored-I-want-to-cry-for-something-to-do’ stage, but I will. At the moment mints are my saviour. For every 15 minutes I survive in an exam I get a mint. It’s like a rewards system, and so far it’s working.
The Sims 2
Oh god, I’m back on it. Sims 2 is like a drug, you kick the habit for a couple of months and then you’re back on it and need to binge. I’ve spent the last 5 days in bed playing the game. This is not healthy… but it is so much fun!
Game of Thrones
Oh-my-Lord-of-Light! This series! Aah! I think this season may be my all-time favourite so far! Last season I found it a bit ‘uhh’, but so far the number of deaths (HODOR…!) reunions, resurrections, and whatnot have been amazing! I’m still waiting for that one character to reappear but it looks like that storyline is being built now. Bring on Mondays!
Harry Potter
I have managed to get through nearly all of the Harry Potter books this month. I am currently on page 648 (FRED..!) of the Deathly Hallows and will probably have it finished tonight or tomorrow. This series is my ultimate fave! I love it so much.
And although I was dead against Harry Potter and the Cursed Child now they’ve released the pictures of the older Harry, Hermione and Ron and their kids I’m intrigued. I’m not going to see it for a while – I do not have £120 lying around – but I think I will pre-order the script in the next few days and have a read when it comes out.
iPad
I love my iPad! I have all of my apps, my games, my kindle app, my banking and my shopping. I’ve only had my iPad for about 9 months, and prior to that, it was my dad’s. But I don’t know what I’d do without it now.
Being Home
No more annoying housemates, no more uni-houses that smell like piss, no more trekking across London with a giant suitcase for a three-day weekend at home, no more empty fridge, no more weekends of laundry, no more pining for the cat. Yay. I’m home!
So there we have ten of my May favourites. Now June is the month of birthdays – shout out to my family! – so I will be broke, busy and brimming with excitement for the next few weeks! Yippee!
