#MarketYourMarketing: October Workshops
I am thrilled by the response to my initial #MarketYourMarketing workshops in September. Over 300 people registered for each woMrkshop and between 90-150 people attended on the day, with many following up by watching the recorded sessions on YouTube.
After the success of the first two rounds of #MarketYourMarketing workshops I thought I would set up the next round in October. However, these workshops are going to be run a little differently…
Based on poll and general feedback the two workshops I will be running two workshops in October on:
Tuesday 13th October – 6-7pm – Youtube NOT Zoom, but you must pre-register via Eventbrite
How to develop publishing skills within a personal side hustle, as well as the potential for secondary stream of income. I will discuss how first comes heart, then comes hustle when finding a side hustle. And why side hustles are extremely useful in the publishing industry based on personal and anecdotal experiences.
Pre-recorded and available via Youtube: Due to ongoing internet issues I will be pre-recording this session on side hustles. I’ll spend roughly 30-45 minutes discussing finding a side hustle. I will also be answering questions that I’ll ask for in advance of the workshop via my social media. The private link to the pre-recorded video will be sent to those that have pre-registered at Eventbrite at 6pm on Tuesday 13th October.
Tuesday 20th October – 6-7pm – YouTube NOT Zoom, but you must pre-register via Eventbrite
This workshop was requested A LOT via social media and during the Q&A portions of the previous workshop0. I will be discussing my tips and tricks for writing a killer CV and cover letter which will get you noticed, based on my experience of working in publishing recruitment, submitting my own applications and reviewing applications when previously hiring.
Pre-recorded and available via Youtube: As above, due to ongoing internet issues I will be pre-recording this session on writing CVs and Cover Letters. I’ll spend roughly 30-45 minutes discussing the ‘how to’s’. I will also be answering questions that I’ll ask for in advance of the workshop via my social media. The private link to the pre-recorded video will be sent to those that have pre-registered at Eventbrite at 6pm on Tuesday 20th October.
The workshops will be run one week after the other, instead of fortnightly as September due to personal commitments. If they go well and I extend the workshops to November I will likely return to fortnightly workshops – hopefully via Zoom again rather than pre-recorded as I like to ask questions as I go.
How will the workshops work?
As before, the workshops are completely FREE. However, these workshops will be pre-recorded and available via a private YouTube link to those that have pre-registered via Eventbrite.
I will be live on YouTube and Twitter at the time that the workshops are running so do feel free to ask me any questions it airs. I will also be available for an hour after the workshop to continue answering questions as well.
Registration is open until 6pm on the day of the workshop and all links to the pre-recorded YouTube videos will be sent at 6pm on the dot. If you do not receive one at that point, please do contact me. But first check your spam inbox and also that you’ve used the correct email when signing up via Eventbrite.
The sessions are an hour long and split into 30-45 minutes of ‘how to’ and a 15-30 minute Q&A session thereafter – all questions will need to be sent PRIOR to the workshop via my Twitter, email or in the comments below.
How do I ask a question?
I am keeping the Q&A portion of the workshops in place – even though they are pre-recorded – to get your question answered simply complete this form by the Sunday BEFORE the workshop is shared i.e. Sunday 11th October and Sunday 18th October.
Next #MarketYourMarketing workshop: Tuesday 29th September
My next workshop is all about how to ace a publishing job interview. Free tickets are still available and will be until 12pm on Tuesday 29th September. The event WILL take place via Zoom at 6-7pm as per the first two workshops.
Please do join and if you have any requests for further workshops please let me know via the comments, email or by contacting me on social media.
I hope the workshops have been helpful so far. I cannot wait to get the next lot set up for you guys.
