How to Deal with Christmas Stress
Christmas is a very stressful time of year, add in COVID and it makes it extra stressful. So here are some top tips to deal with Christmas street.
How to deal with Christmas stress
Take time for yourself
Make sure that whenever you can that you take time for yourself. Go for a walk, take a nap, or treat yourself to a nice cup of tea. Never underestimate the power of 15 minutes for yourself.
Get organised in advance
If you know you’ve got something coming up, like a Christmas Zoom party where Christmas Jumpers are compulsory or you need to send Christmas cards before a certain date, then get it done in advance. Don’t leave it to the last moment as this is just a recipe for stress.
Write lists
Shopping lists, present lists, Christmas card lists and more… Tick things off as you go and you’ll stay on top of everything and not miss anything.
Start early
Where you can start everything early. I get presents in October usually, and Christmas cards are bought in the New Year’s sale. just because Christmas Day is nearly here, doesn’t mean you can’t start preparing for Christmas 2021.
Don’t take on more than you can chew
Just because it’s Christmas, it doesn’t mean you need to say yes to every outing, every catch-up and every favour. No is a very powerful word and if you don’t want to do something, or you don’t have time then say No. Don’t squeeze everything in.
