Home Decor and Lifestyle Wish List 2021
It has been a busy week this week! And it’s only going to get busier as we come into June. However, I’ve got my birthday coming up and I can’t wait to treat myself to some of the items on my home decor and lifestyle wish list.
Some of these items you might recognise from previous wish lists I’ve shared – they’re the priorities for me in June – but there are some new items as well.
Vinyl
Divide Album by Ed Sheeran
I’ve recently got a Bush Turntable and I want to grow my Vinyl collection. My parents have said I can raid their collections – although my sister got there first – there are a few modern albums I want to add as well. First up is Ed Sheeran’s Divide Album. I really enjoyed this album in particular. I used to listen to it non-stop when I was doing university work and I enjoy nearly all of the songs. Perfect for vinyl.
Long Way Down by Tom Odell
Next up is Tom Odell. I like a lot of his songs, most of which are on this Album. He has a really lovely tone of voice and I find his songs emotive and passionate. Great for writing hard scenes when I’m working on my next novel.
In A Perfect World by Kodaline
Also emotive is Kodaline. You may not recognise the band’s name, but I bet you would have heard some of their songs as their staples for TV dramas and films.
Night Visions by Imagine Dragons
And last up on Vinyl, is Night Visions by Imagine Dragons. Another kind of punchy album that I think is perfect listening for when I’m doing my – very limited – workouts around the house.
Home Decor
Glass Bathroom Storage Box
I love me some home decor. My jewellery collection is starting to spill over on its current stand, and it’s making all of my necklaces tie together. This jewellery box would perfect for storing my chunky earrings and/or necklaces away from the rest. Then I can pick them up and put them on without spending ten minutes untangling them all.
Diamond Tufted Cushion
I’m still after some textured cushions for my bedroom. I love white and cream colours, and this macrame-esque design really caught my eye.
Cream Terrazo Plant Pot
The not-flatio garden continues to grow. My fuchsias and pansies are looking great, and I would love to add more lavender to the garden. This pot is gorgeous and very aesthetically pleasing.
Brown Wooden Frame Plant Stand
A re-occurring item on my wishlist is this plant stand. As my garden grows I would love to get this plant stand for the opposite end of the not-flatio, so I can showcase some of my favourite blooms. Maybe not quite yet, but I will get it someday!
Sitting Geo Gnome
Also an item we’ve seen before: I adore this Geometric Gnome from Wilkos. I went to get it last month and it was out of stock, but now it’s back! It looks so cute. And every garden needs a gnome.
Copper Effect Lantern
I’m really excited to get some lights into the patio for those lovely summer evenings when friends can hopefully come around. This lantern was inexpensive and perfect for my plans.
Pink Faux Fur Cushion
And finally, another cushion. White and pink is the theme of my living room, and many of the sofa cushions are starting to look a little worn – mostly because they’ve had a lot of use this past year! Mostly as laptop stands. I love a soft cushion you can just curl up against for a cat-nap.
Writing Materials
Fringe Road Map Journal
This wouldn’t be a lifestyle wish list without a notebook on it!
I found a Fringe notebook at TK Maxx a little while ago and fell in love. I don’t know why I am so particular about my notebooks, but the paper quality at Fringe is great and the ink from a fountain pen doesn’t run! A must.
Books
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone: MinaLima Edition
Onto books. I didn’t even know about the MinaLima edition of Harry Potte until it was already released. This stunning book is the same book of old, but with a few of the MinaLima designs from the movies – plus a few extras – thrown in for good measure. MinaLima are the designers that did all of the creative work on the Harry Potter movies from posters to books, Wizard Wheezes to Horcruxes.
Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur
I’ve been meaning to get back into poetry lately and the one book that is always recommended to me is Milk and Honey. I don’t know much about it, except that it’s a poetry book for everyone, and that’s enough to intrigue me.
Stray by Stephanie Danler
I adored Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler, so when I discovered she was writing a memoir I immediately popped it onto my to-read list. It was fairly pricey when it first launched, but now the price is reducing to a more reasonable cost. I would love to read this at some point as I think her writing is raw, and her stories important.
Great Goddesses by Nikita Gill
Everyone knows I love my Greek mythology. This book is a collection of learnings, poems, and sayings from various Greek Goddesses’ all compiled into one book. It’s also got the most stunning cover. The perfect gift.
Candles
Blush Lily Candle
Since I’ve been working from home all year I’ve burnt a lot of my candles in their entirety. I’m usually pretty good at making them last, but not this year. It’s time to replenish my stocks.
I love the Lily candles as they’re so sweet, and Blush was the first-ever candle from this brand I received.
Yankee Candle Vanilla Cupcake
I’m feeling the love for sweets scent at the moment – a little different from my previous smokey/deep scents. Vanilla Cupcake is a Yankee Candle staple, but it’s got a strong smell that would be perfect for either my living room or the bathroom.
Yankee Candle Surprise Snowfall
And finally for this wishlist, is a Christmas candle! Yes, I know it’s not Christmas yet but Christmas candles are too amazing not to burn all year round. My mum recently got a votive of Surprise Snowfall, and I don’t know how they managed to capture the scent but it smells exactly as it’s described. Not that I would know how to describe the scent of surprise snowfall.
