Funzing Talk | Is Social Media Making us Anti-Social?

I can’t believe that in a few weeks’ time I am going to be giving a lecture for Funzing Talks on social media.

After I wrote an article for the Huffington Post on social media, as part of their Scroll Free September Challenge, I was approached by Funzing to give a talk on the subject.

I still can’t believe it’s happening, but I’m also really excited.

The talk will be in Shoreditch, London on the 26th Feb and tickets are available on Funzing Talks website.

  • Lighthouse Bar & Club, 65 Rivington Street, London, EC2A 3A
  • Time: 7:30pm – 10pm

As you can tell by the title Is Social Media Making Us Anti-Social I am going to be talking about social networking and its effects on our lives, mental health, and relationships.

It’s not all doom and gloom though. It’s simply my take – based on research – on how online networking is affecting our lives and how to control it going forward.

After all, we want to live lives not just tweet about them.

Are we using social media to be social, or are we using it to satisfy our own vanity? is this causing problems for our offline, real-life relationships with those around us? What exactly is comparison syndrome? Join writer & lifestyle expert Ellie Pilcher for a deeper look into the negative effects that can be caused by our love of Social Media.

If you’re interested in attending tickets are £12 each, although there may be a few deals coming soon.

For £11.99 you can get an unlimited Funzing Talks membership to attend as many Funzing Talks as you wish.

I hope to see you there! I’ll be available to ask questions on Twitter before and after the lecture itself.

Love Ellie x
