Cosy Autumn Films to Watch in 2023
We all love watching cosy autumn films when the seasons change. Light a few candles, make your favourite homemade soup and cuddle under a blanket to watch a film. It’s lush and wonderful self-care.
I have a few cosy favourites I return to each year that I thought I would share.
Cosy Autumn Films to Watch in 2023
Practical Magic
For the midnight margarita scene alone, this is a cosy classic. With elements of horror and a dash of romance, this crossover film is beautifully acted and funny. The ultimate witchy brew.
Mona Lisa’s Smile
I think academia and Autumn go hand-in-hand, which is why I highly recommend Mona Lisa’s Smile for a cosy viewing party. It’s set in the 1950s in Boston, at a female college and explores the restrictions put on women in America by themselves as well as others.
Hocus Pocus
If you’re looking for a family film then you cannot go wrong with Hocus Pocus or indeed Hocus Pocus 2. The Hannah Waddingham scene in the latter is worth it for me. Bette Midler’s classically quotable lines and hilarious delivery bring the story to life.
When Harry Met Sally
We all need a solid romance now and again, and in my opinion, you cannot beat When Harry Met Sally. The New Year’s speech, the Mexican wave, and best friends’ coffee table, all equate to a brilliant movie that stands the test of time and is cosy to boot.
Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
And finally, Harry Potter. I don’t need to say much, we all know it and it’s a childhood classic.
