Books to Read in the Last Few Months of 2022
It’s September, there are only four months left of the year. Where has the time gone? And why haven’t I read as much as I wanted to this year? Today I thought I would share my list of books to read in the last few months of 2022.
Books to Read from September to December 2022
Clanlands by Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish
I have started this book already, but I haven’t gotten through it as quickly as I expected I would. Not because I’m not enjoying it – I really am! – but because I’ve been distracted by other things. I will finish this book before the end of the year though.
Great Expectations by Charles Dickens
When I put together my list of 22 books to read in 2022 I thought it would be Nicholas Nickleby that I got to this year, but it appears the Charles Dickens novel I will be reading this year is Great `Expectations. I never studied this book at school – we did Birdsong instead – so I’m looking forward to this.
Sorrow and Bliss by Meg Mason
This is our next book club pick in the Books Before Boys Book Club. We just read Impossible by Sarah Lotz (which sadly I didn’t enjoy) but I’m looking forward to this read. The story follows an over-achieving woman who appears to have a perfect life. But under the surface, there are some very big cracks beginning to show.
Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus
I really really want to read this. I’ve yet to meet anyone who has read this who hasn’t adored it. I did start it, but then I started my new job and got distracted by the books I had to read for work. The story follows a woman called Elizabeth who is a talented scientist in the 1960s. She falls in love with another scientist, and the scene jumps to years later when she is a single mother and star of the TV show Supper at Six.
A Very Nice Girl by Imogen Crimp
This just sounds like my cup of tea. It’s a contemporary women’s fiction novel that has been described as Sweetbitter meets Normal People, which are two of my favourite stories of all time! This hopefully means this might be one of my favourites soon.
Those are books I want to read before the end of 2022. What books are you aiming to read before the year is out? Let me know in the comments below.
