Best TV Shows of 2021

In 2021 I re-watched a lot of TV shows, so my Best TV Shows of 2021 is going to include a few of those classics. Although I did manage to watch a few new shows as well.

Gray’s Anatomy

This one is new to me. In 2021, I started watching the series from season 5 onwards and I am now hooked. I always knew the big plot twists and major cast news, from the Twitterverse. But I had never actually watched the show until this year. Now to watch Private Practice to catch up on all the drama with Derek’s ex-wife.

Station-19

What actually got me into Gray’s Anatomy was the spin-off series Station-19. I wanted to know who the hell Ben was and why he became a firefighter when he was a surgeon. Now I’m devastated as this show doesn’t stop pulling at the heartstrings.

It’s a Sin

This show was simply incredible. I don’t even have the words to describe the impact of this show  – on me and the country. It was simply perfect and so important. Be prepared to cry.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers

As soon as I heard there was going to be a Mighty Ducks reboot I was all for it. Me and my sister are massive fans of the 90s film series. Such big fans that I cried when some of the original cast returned in episode six. Like genuine, tears of happiness.

The Repair Shop

My parents and I got way into this. Potentially too much. It’s an easy, happy ending in every episode series on BBC. Long-lost arts of restoration are used to preserve and repair items that often have a brilliant sob story attached. Addictive, heartwarming, and gentle.

Bridgerton

Whilst I technically watched this in December 2020 I’m going to include it in my favourites of 2021. I re-watched this series a lot during the course of the year. Not to mention read every book in the series within two months. It is strangely addictive and a great watch for when you’re under the weather, as I discovered recently.

Leonardo

Aidan Turner and a historical drama series about one of the greatest inventors, artists, and engineers that ever lived. Uh, yes, please. Whilst not perfect, I really enjoyed this part romance, part period drama, part mystery.

Genius

I watched Season 2 and Season 3 of Genius and loved them both! Season 1 not so much. The second season tells the story of Picasso and the third series the story of Aretha Franklin. The first series was about Albert Einstein and I didn’t get past episode 1… The latter two series were incredible though! My mum has told me to watch the recent movie Respect but I don’t see how a 2 hour movie is going to surpass a 10-hour, no-holds-barred series about Aretha Franklin’s life. And Antoni Banderas as Picasso was an inspired choice. An excellent series to watch on Disney+ if you haven’t tried it already.

But those were some of the Best TV Shows of 2021 in my opinion. Highly commended awards to Loki – although I found it confusing AF! So it’s not on my Best TV shows of 2021 list. Maybe series 2?
