Best Books Beginning with L
The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo
Everyone needs a good declutter every now and then, to reset and to make a little extra cash. Clearing space is good for your mental health and for your home, and this book is the perfect starting point.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis
A fan-favourite children’s classic. Whilst the story is an allegory for the Christian faith, it is still a fun adventurous story set in the magical world of Narnia where it is always winter but never Christmas, when the story begins.
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
A classic read that is perfect for a cosy weekend in. Following the four March sisters, primarily Josephine ‘ Jo’, this story focuses on family, ambition and love. A hug in a book.
Living the Dream by Lauren Berry
If you’re a fan of contemporary women’s fiction, then Living the Dream is a strong recommendation. It is all about the trials and tribulations that we all face in our twenties when trying to establish ourselves within our careers, romance and family lives, but failing at every turn.
Love in Colour by Bolu Babalola
If you like retellings with a modern twist then I recommend Love in Colour by Bolu Babalola. It’s a series of short stories, each one based on a mythical character from around the world, retold within modern settings. A great book club read.
Lovely War by Julie Berry
A unique take on the Greek Myth retelling trend. This is a World War Two story, narrated by Aphrodite who has been caught in a tryst by her husband Aries. To get out of the issue she shares a story of true love from the second world war between a soldier and a musician.
