Best Books Beginning with J
Today, I’m continuing my book blog series of Best Books Beginning with… today’s letter is J. Surprisingly, I haven’t read many books beginning with J, but all of them have been good.
Best Books Beginning with J
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
First up, is a classic. I loved Jane Eyre when I read it when I was sixteen. It’s a moving bildungsroman, telling the story of Jane Eyre as a child until adulthood. You fall in love and at the same time hate Mr. Rochester, and the gothic feeling of Thornfield Hall is incredibly immersive. Well worth a read if you haven’t got to it yet.
Journey’s End by R.C. Sheriff
If you studied World War One fiction at school then you probably read this play. It’s an incredibly moving story about the men in the trenches, led by an alcoholic who is struggling with shellshock. It’s not a happy story, prepare to have some tissues.
Just Eat It by Laura Thomas
Next up is a non-fiction title about food. If you’ve ever felt guilty for eating a chocolate bar for dinner or looked at a portion of food and wondered if it was too much, read this book. It gives you the permission to eat what you want and it’s really inspiring whilst also backing it up with science.
Just Like Heaven by Julia Quinn
And finally, for those that love romance, I recommend Just Like Heaven. Written by the author of Bridgerton, this is the first book in the Smythe-Smith series, set alongside the world of Bridgerton but focusing on another family.
