Best Books Beginning with E
Carrying on with the best books beginning with series, today’s letter is E. These are the best books beginning with E that I’ve read to date. If you have any recommendations let me know in the comments below.
This non-fiction book was so inspirational that it led me to get a gym membership – which I no longer have, but at the time used a lot. To bastardize it, this book is all about women and sports. It’s such an approachable read that if you don’t like sports you’ll still enjoy it. I learned a lot from this book about the struggles of women within mainstream sports and would highly recommend it.
This is the only Rainbow Rowell book I’ve read to date. I know there are some problematic issues of characterization, but I enjoyed the storyline. It’s a very soft friends-to-lovers romance, set in a school with some typical high-school tropes.
Eleanor Oliphant is a hit-or-miss book for a lot of readers, but I loved it. It took me three attempts to read but after reading the first 25% I was hooked. The ending is still one of the best pay-offs I’ve read in years.
My favourite Jane Austen classic! I’ve read all of Jane Austen’s completed novels and Emma is by far my favourite. It’s incredibly funny and ahead of its time, the cast of characters are particularly brilliant. Very pastoral England, with my favourite romance ever. Mr. Knightley is so much better than Mr. Darcy in my opinion. If you want to trial an adaptation before reading the book I recommend the 2009 BBC adaptation, it’s by far the best.
My favourite line: ‘I can’t make speeches. If I loved you less I might be able to talk about it more.’
And finally, my favourite fantasy read from my teenage years. The first book in the Inheritance Cycle is amazing; it’s downhill from here, but it’s still worth reading as a standalone. The fantasy read for new-fantasy readers looking to build their way up to George R.R. Martin level dragons.
Those are my thoughts on the best books beginning with E, that I’ve read. As I said at the beginning, I’m always looking for new book recommendations so do let me know your suggestions in the comments below. And let me know what you thought of the above books.
