30 Day Challenge | January 2019 Results

So how did your January 30 Day Challenge go you may ask… okay, I think that is the most solid answer. As a reminder, here are the challenges I set for myself in January 2019.

30 Day Challenge – January 2019

Give Up Cheese

Well, except for an ‘accidental’ egg and cheese McMuffin Breakfast meal, I did actually give up cheese in January. Not as hard as I thought it might be.

Keep my spending to within £100 of my overdraft

HAHAHAHA. Yeah. I booked a holiday to New York City so no.

No More Fizz

I was doing so well with this and then last weekend I went home and you know what I really wanted a can of coke and I’m not going to feel ashamed of that. It was a treat. Now the trick is to not fall into old habits and not have a can of coke every day.

Eat More Vegetables

I started off the month by making Potato and Leek Soup, Mushroom omelettes and eating looks of onions (spring onions on salads, red onions in spag bowl etc) but I could have done better.

Take my lunch with me to work x3 times a week

This has been quite hard this month as I spent so many of my lunches at meetings, appointments, and generally out of the office so I think this is a bit half and half as sometimes I had no choice but to eat out more than two times a week.

Organise some meet-ups

I did organise quite a few meet-ups with friends, some of which had to be cancelled because of illness or cold but I still managed to see some of my friends I haven’t seen since before Christmas and organise a weekly catch-up with a mate that now works down the road from me and organise a date… yes, a date.

Keep up my Writing

Another one I could have done better at but you know what, I’m actually quite pleased with the amount of writing I managed to get published in January. So, whilst my pitching was down the actual number of publications went up. Check out my Freelance Writing page for more details on that.

All in all, I’m pretty happy with how my goals/tasks went in January. I had a really great month, which is saying something after the year I had in 2018.

I’ll be doing a round-up on Friday of all the amazing things that happened so keep your eyes peeled for that.
