As we approach the end of March 2022 – a whole three months into the year! – I thought it would be worth doing a check-in of my list of 22 things I’d like to do in 2022.

Out of the 22 items on the list, I have managed: 3

Things I’ve done in 2022:

Go to the gym

For a brief time after Christmas and before my sister’s wedding I started to go back to the gym. It wasn’t as terrible as I thought, but the cost wasn’t feasible with the rising cost of living in London. So I gave it up, once again, to work out at home instead.

Go to Secret Cinema

In March, two friends from work and I went to the Bridgerton Secret Cinema event and it was amazing! Well worth getting tickets, if there are some still available. We had a ball – literally!

Do a talk at my old school

And finally, mid-way through March, I returned to my secondary school to give a talk to creative writing students about becoming a published writer. It was daunting but a lot of fun. And it was lovely to see some of my old teachers as well.

In terms of things that are very likely to happen in 2022, here’s what I have booked:

Go to Disneyland Paris

Barring any disasters – which feels awfully like tempting fate after the last two years – my friends and I should be off to Disneyland Paris in June… watch this space.

Write another novel

I’ve got the chapter breakdown, the go-ahead from my lovely agent… but now I need to find the time, energy and creativity.

Complete three 30-day challenges

I’ve done one 30-day challenge so far, and I’ve got another planned for April. If I squeeze another one in, in the latter half of the year I should manage this.

Go to a concert

We’re off to ABBA in May, so this should go ahead. Although, I’m totally out of practice, having not been to a concert in over 10 years!

Get a new haircut

All booked for April. The colour purple may be playing a part…

Donate blood

My next donation is at the end of March so I should easily tick this one-off. Maybe even more than once this year.

As for everything else, they’ll be a major plus if I do, do them in 2022. We’ll have to see what the year brings.

What are your plans for 2022? And are you sticking to them? Let me know in the comments below.
