Top Ten Blog Posts I Recommend from 2020
As a blogger, I’m always looking for other blogs. Not only as inspiration but also to feel part of a community. I have my favourites, which I’ve previously shared on my blog but these are my Top Ten Blog Posts of 2020.
I love Grace’s blog, and Grace in general. She’s an inspiration, and I adore her no-shits given attitude. So when she turned 27, she shared a post about 27 things she loves. These are everyday things from coffee to kindness, to plants and pooping. It’s bonkers, but relatable.
I’m working my way through this list of documentaries and crime shows. As I live alone, I enjoy background noise and documentaries/true crime shows are perfect for that. So this post was perfect for me.
Eleanor’s post about the New Normal, after we went into lockdown is really calming and insightful. I hate the term ‘the new normal’ as I think many of us do. But this post is very reflective and I enjoyed that.
This year, I’ve been stuck inside a lot – as most of us have. When we were in the first lockdown my mum was shielding so I only left the house about four times in five months. Luckily we had a garden, but even with that space I was walking less than 2,000 steps a day. Needless to say, I piled on the pounds. This post was great to getting me back into shape – especially as my sisters wedding was approaching and I had a bridesmaid dress to fit into.
With this year being what it has been, it’s given me a lot of time to focus on growing my blog. As not only my landing page in general, but also a small income stream I’ve been reading a lot of SEO tips online. This post really helped hone the basics.
As a home decor lover, I’m constantly looking for ideas and inspiration. This blog post is not only aesthetically pleasing, it’s also got some really great tips on things like functional features. Just because it’s decor doesn’t mean it can’t be useful.
Since reading this post I’ve been desperate to go to the Shard for this afternoon tea. I’d even be willing to pay the £68 cost for the pleasure. £2 of the profits goes to Great Omerond Street Hospital, and the tea is served in a pirate ship with monographed Peter Plan plates. Honestly, it looks like Ellie heaven!
Working from home has always been a bit difficult for me, particularly in long stretches. I used to enjoy a day or two working from home, but I much prefer the office. It’s easy for me to get distracted, particularly when surrounded by my own things. I’m a major side-hustler so sometimes I have multiple things going on at once. It goods for me to get into a routine to prioritise my work when working from home.

This post was a great starting point for me to work on my office set-up now that I’m working remotely full-time. Blogs are a good place to look for advice of this nature.
This blog post had me at Harry Potter-Inspired. As I said before, I adore reading about home decor, so add in a Harry Potter theme and I can’t resist. This post gave me life.
